Miracle in the Making

I am so behind on my blogging.....what a busy fall with both my jobs; working at the USD School of Medicine and my photography business, plus our daughter's wedding! So there are my excuses, but I just noticed I had this "draft" that I had not published and it shows how far behind I got as Kristy and Luke, along with Ari, welcomed the arrival of Elyse Harper on Thursday, November 10th. Congratulations to you all! I will always remember Elyse's birthday as she shares her birthday with my husband Charlie.

My first maternity photo shoot! And Kristy made it so easy for me, she sent me ideas ahead of time and I did some research as well. What a fun afternoon in the studio!

As you can see, Ari, that it was a pretty fun time too. It is not every day he gets to paint his Mommy's tummy and then his own!

Kristy truly glows. And she and Luke are such wonderful parents. I can't wait to meet the newest addition in November!

Splishin' and a splashin'!

I have been very priveleged to watch Peyton progress through her first year milestones from behind the lens of my camera. She was one of my very first clients coming to my studio last December at the age of 3 months, reurning at age 6 months, 9 months, and now 1 year!

We really put Peyton through the paces at this last photo shoot with the addition of family photos and a cake smash! It is always fun to see these babies whose mother's have been so careful not to give them any sugar (my grandson included!) have their very first taste of CAKE. The quizical look as a small cake is set down before them is priceless as well. Not only did we expose Peyton to cake, she also had her first taste of CANDY (1 or 2 Smarties). I hope she wasn't bouncing off the walls later, but if she was it was okay, since Grandma Jan had babysitting duty :)

But I think what made Peyton the happiest was playing in the wash tub and getting cleaned up after the cake smash - she was smiling ear to ear! Peyton you are a joy!

These photos are in reverse chronological order - starting with the bath to get all the frosting off of Peyton. You can see she has some "war paint" on.

No one in the studio (except for me!) escaped without some frosting on them as well, including Grandpa, but he doesn't seem to mind. Peyton is ready to get rid of her birthday hat here and jump in the wash tub!

Look how clean everyone started off at the beginning of the session!
