Melissa & Nick; Soon to be Mom & Dad!

Melissa and I started off as biking budies in 2006 and since I took up photography a few years, Melissa has been a wonderful mentor! This last year we haven't done any biking together but we have done a lot of photography together! I was honored to do some maternity photos with Melissa and Nick as part of the Valentine special fundraiser for the Wakonda Pool. These guys are going to be the csoolest parents ever - I can't wait to meet their little one due in March!

Valentines Mini-Sessions

I can't wait to share with you all the photos from the Valentines mini-sessions from this past Saturday. Thank you all for supporting this fund raiser for the Wakonda swimming pool and thank you to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Julie Logue for providing matching funds! A total of $400 was raised.

And to show my appreciation to all who participated, each family that brought their child/children will be elgible to win a free photo session with photo CD (to be used by June 1st). Here are the rules:

Katherine and Corey's Engagement Photos

I had an incredible afternoon on Sunday with Katherine and Corey who made the trip from Brookings to have their engagement photos taken. Our timing for outdoor photos was perfect for the light and the weather was so mild, hard to believe we could be so comfortable taking outdoor photos in January! Katherine and Corey are very fun and their excitment is contagious, I'm looking forward to their June 9th wedding!

Amber and Travis - Engaged!

Amber and Travis are getting married on May 12th in Yankton and they came in today for their engagement session. Photographing them was soooo much fun, they are such a sweet couple!

As many of you know, I have a very unique photo studio which was once an old fashioned feed store that sold feed, and fresh eggs and cream at one time. And to get to the studio you walk through the space dedicated to my husband's antique tractor collection. Well it turns out that Travis also loves old tractors, so it just thrilled my husband when a tractor was requested for the outdoor photo shoot!

Valentines Mini Special - A Benefit for the Wakonda Pool!

To celebrate my first year in business and to express my gratitude to my community, I am offering a Valentines Mini-Special! The cost is $25 and the money will go to the Wakonda Pool fund. We all know that the swimming pool in a small town is the social hub for the kids in the community, and it also provided jobs for both of our daughters who did their stints a life guards. So I am happy to help in a small way by contributing the proceeds to the Wakonda Pool Fund. Here are the details:

Appointments on the half hour starting at 8:30am. Last appointment at 4:30pm.
20 minute session featuring a Valentines theme!

Joe & Shana's Fall Engagement - Vermillion, South Dakota

Joe and Shana took advantage of hte beautiful fall we had to have their engagement photos done. It was a beautiful afternoon to walk and talk and take photos as we made our way to the top of the Vermillion Bluff and then back down. I can't wait for their August 2012 wedding!

I did a few edits to this photo I took of my great neice on Christmas Day and wanted to share it on my blog.
